The charm of the Mediterranean at Walt Disney World Resort. We have long enjoyed the concept of visiting European countries at Epcot in the World Showcase. Still, Disney’s Riviera Resort brings the splendor of France and the Mediterranean even more alive to visiting guests. A Disney resort is always a thrill, but this resort is particularly unique in that it is located right on Disney Skyline, the new gondola system that makes getting to and from Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Epcot a breeze. Much in the fashion of Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, the lobby is small and understated with limited seating—lovely but perhaps a bit too cozy. And the strange check-in system of roaming cast members with electronic tablets is totally chaotic. No one knows who is next in line, and the result is the feeling of being overlooked and invisible to the arriving guest—all the more reason to utilize Disney’s Online Check-in system found on your My Disney Experience account. Off the lobby is Le Petit Café, a coffee shop by day and cocktail bar by night. Behind it and accessible from the Café is Voyageurs’ Lounge, interesting in that it contains nostalgic memorabilia from Walt’s travels to the Riviera. Out back lakeside is European-inspired gardens perfect for strolling with bubbling fountains and shimmering mosaic murals. Two pools and a delightful splash area make for plenty of aquatic delights. The family-friendly Riviera Pool is a zero-entry option with a fun slide wrapping around a stone turret. The splash area, S’il Vous Play, inspired by the grand public fountains of Europe, has two slides, spraying toadstools, and a la Fantasia cavorting characters. For a more laid-back vibe, choose Beau Soleil Pool in the central courtyard. Of course, you can’t help but notice the double-R monogram logo found everywhere throughout the resort. Don’t miss the tunnel leading to Disney’s Skyliner transportation hub where more than 1 million hand-cut, hand-laid tiles make up two sparkling mosaic murals, one of Peter Pan’s nighttime London, the other Rapunzel’s floating lantern scene from “Tangled.” Tour Disney’s Riviera Resort at the Glass Slipper Concierge YouTube channel. 341 units. 1080 Esplanade Ave, Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830; 407-939-5277. At a Disney Vacation Club resort, the typical room accommodations include Studios, One-Bedroom Villas, Two-Bedroom Villas, and Three-Bedroom Grand Villas. Some DVC Resorts may not have all of the room choices, but all have a Studio when making reservations. Studios at DVC resorts will accommodate 2-5 guests. These units are the most popular DVC accommodations and will book up quicker than any other DVC room. A Studio is very similar to a hotel room at a Disney resort. The typical floor plan is a single room with a small kitchenette section and a bathroom. Unlike a hotel room, DVC rooms don't usually have two regular queen-size beds. Most DVCs will have one queen-size bed and one fold-out couch or pull-down Murphy bed. During the day, this gives a little more room in the unit. If a fifth guest is accommodated, then there will be a single pull-down bed. There are a few exceptions. The Tower Studio at Riviera Resort is a small room 255 square feet with only one bed. The Murphy bed pulls down from the wall over the couch, making the room vacant of any bed during the day. The only Studio with two queen-size dedicated beds instead of a single bed is at Old Key West and later in 2022, the new Grand Floridian Resort Studio rooms that have pull-down beds to accommodate a fifth person, these are small beds. They are only 29" x 67", a little tinier than a regular twin-sized mattress. The pull-down bed at Rivera Deluxe Studio is much bigger than the other resorts and should be able to accommodate an adult comfortably. Villas undergoing cyclical room refurbishments will likely see the sleeper sofa replaced with a combination sofa/pull-down queen-size murphy bed. These units are a couch during the day but convert from the wall to a queen-size bed at night. The living area will typically be a couch that converts to a bed at night, with a coffee table or ottoman. There is usually a small table and a couple of chairs that serve as a place for in-room dining or a workplace. Also, the typical Studio will have a closet or armoire for hanging clothes or will be a kitchenette, which usually has a counter top with a sink with shelves to store supplies attached to the wall. The kitchenette at Bay Lake Tower is a split unit, almost like a separate kitchen section. Studio kitchenettes are not large units and don't have the kitchen space or conveniences of the larger full kitchens in the One, Two, or Three-Bedroom the floor plan is the bathroom. Bathrooms in Deluxe Studios are typically a shower/tub combination only or have a dedicated shower Copper Creek Deluxe Studio with walk-in shower or both Polynesian, Riviera, Grand Floridian. They will have one sink Animal Kingdom-Jambo house and Polynesian have two. Split design bathrooms can be very accommodating, and these are located at the Polynesian, Riviera, and Grand Floridian. Bathrooms have shampoo and soap and a hairdryer. At DVC resorts, Studios do not have access to an in-room washer and dryer, nor does the room have a dishwasher. These amenities are in the One, Two, and Three-Bedroom units. Studio rooms share a laundry facility located in the range in floor size from the Tower units at 255 square feet to the Hilton Head Island Studios at 455 square feet. The largest Studio at Walt Disney World is the Polynesian Resort at 447 square feet. We had the fantastic opportunity to stay at Disney’s Riviera Resort recently in one of their deluxe studios, and we thought we’d take along for a tour of the room!Walking into our room, we were taken aback by how beautiful the room was!One thing we also noted was how spacious the studio felt when it could have easily felt deluxe studio can sleep up to 5 guests, with one queen-size bed, one queen-size pull-down bed that doubled up as a sofa for the room as well as a single trundle pull-down the sofa is pulled down for the queen-sized bed, a painting of Perdita, Pongo and all of their puppies can be seen while they’re watching you believe this is where another bed is hidden?!The single trundle pull-down bed revealed an adorable painting of Pascal in Rapunzel’s art style and even had its own built-in light that could be switched on and off when details were incorporated into the room, including this elegant Mickey at the top of the bed course, Riviera touches were also incorporated including a Mickey Mouse poster in French, and the Riviera Resort’s logo on the wouldn’t be a Disney Resort stay without towels shaped into a Mickey head!We didn’t have the greatest of views from the balcony with booking the standard view, however, we were so enamored with the room that we never even ventured out there! The studio included a full kitchenette, including a microwave, fridge, and coffee items included in the room were extra bedding and pillows, an ironing board, and a is always a list of items that can also be requested when staying at a Disney resort that includes a crib and a smoothie maker, among other onto the bathroom, which featured a full sink, as well as a bathtub and two showers, with one of those showers being above the bathroom was separated into two, with doors allowing each room to be closed off from another, so someone could be using the shower with someone else using the second shower was in the same area as the toilet and boasted a rain shower head, in which the water falls directly from you have never experienced a rain shower, you will be blown away by the relaxing experience that comes with it. The only downside is that every other shower will never compare! What do you think of the Deluxe Studio at Disney’s Riviera Resort? Let us know in the comments for visiting Want to go to Disney?
